Vote For Claude!!

October 26, 2000

Greetings,

First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who sent Mandy Lynn and I their words of encouragement after our little "episode" at the Velndonom Dudley Emporium grand opening in Stonebridge last week.  We both enjoyed a little too much of that fine Western Maine champagne and things got a little out of hand.

My bad experience with Misty earlier this year has left me a little on edge when it comes to affairs of the heart.  After the ribbon cutting ceremony, I saw Mandy talking to a good-looking young man in the corner next to the lobster juice machines. They were laughing and carrying on and I just lost control.  When confronted, she told me that the fellow was her younger brother Todd, just back from service in the Pacific Rim.  I thought she was lying to me and I lunged at her with what onlookers described as "a look of pure unadulterated rage."  The young gentleman (whom it turns out was indeed her younger brother) blocked my lunge with his meaty forearm and knocked me to the cold floor.  I began cursing and throwing punches in every direction.  I was eventually brought under control by State Trooper Robert Harrops (Stonebridge barracks).

You'll all be happy to know that Mandy and I have reconciled and things are just Jim Dandy between us.  She has been concentrating on her work and is about to enter the Maine Hot Buns competition.  Y'know, I have a feeling she just might win.

I would also like to announce that Western Maine Water and Sewer is now a part of the Velndonom/Velndoco family of corporations.  Changeover should be relatively speedy and problem free.

Now The Big News!!

I, Claude Y. Velndonom, am announcing my candidacy for commissioner of Western Maine. I have taken a good long look around this area and I don't like what I see in the streets and on the playgrounds .  I think it is time for a change.  I bear no strong ill feelings towards my new opponents: current commissioner Thor Donahue and Mike Falser,  but I feel that I have something that this area needs.  Let's see how the three of us stack up:

Donahue                                                                    Falser                                                        Velndonom

Will vote against Prop 27                   Wants to establish Crabber's Bill of Rights

CONTROLS THE WATER

Wants to lower fisherman's tax             For lighthouse worker tax exemption

Says WM needs more revenue                Will vote no on Prop 27

I ask each and every one of you to think about these issues and vote accordingly.  I will cherish your vote.

Bless you,

Claude
