What a flurry of emotion I felt upon reading Ms. Wilson's missive! My father was the leader of Pawnee PcClan and Scrimshaw, and I can recall many a Sunday afternoon listening to the 45 rpm record of "Carve It Right." The flipside was called "Hey Joe." It's a wonder that another Western Maine group (The Tillermen) had a song by the same name! Must have been something in the water. My pappa's real name was not Pawnee, of course. But oh how he loved to play Indian! Often he sat behind his drum set (which he called his "trap kit") singing in a big old Indian headdress! "What a dreamboat" my Mum would say. On his deathbed, my father told me that the kind of music his group played was called "garage music" because often he played it in the garage! I'll never forget his creative spirit.
